Friday Folder Comments

October 10: Thank you so much to everyone who sent in apples for this week! We really had so much fun reading books, doing experiments, creating apple glyphs, and especially cooking! The American bald eagle was the focus for our U.S.A. unit this week, and we learned some fascinating facts.  Have a wonderful and restful 3 day weekend!

·         Columbus Day is Monday, October 13.  We will not have school.
·         Picture Day is Tuesday, October 14. This will be the picture used in our yearbook!
·         Please be sure to read about and send in the permission slip for our 2nd annual storybook character dress up day. We started this tradition last year, and it is a really fun day for the students to participate in!
·         Starting on Monday, your child will have a small reader in their red hot reader folder. Please remember to send the book back each day.  I will change the book each time I meet with a reading group. The book will change 1-2 times every week depending on our schedule and how often I meet with the group. Please have your child read the book every night.  You may also do some of the activities and practice the sight words located in the red hot reader behind all of the behavior calendar pages. I will send a video with more information as well.
